Made from reclaimed cotton fibres and nut pith with hydrocarbon eating microbes, Oil Sponge® absorbs oil based liquids and most chemicals, while repelling water. Oil Sponge® encapsulates and prevents leaching of contaminated liquids up to saturation point.
Oil Sponge® is the only known absorbent being manufactured today that has been inoculated with hydrocarbon eating bacteria (microbes) and nutrients. These natural microbes then biodegrade both itself and the oil by means of bioremediation.
